Are you Stressed, holding tension, suffer headaches, an athlete that needs attention or simply love hands on work?
Thai yoga therapy is a healing art, prominently known as The traditional Thai Yoga Massage, that roots back to the days of Buddha—about 2,500 years ago.
This therapeutic art was directly rooted in the Indian healing traditions of Ayurvedic medicine. The father founder of Thai Yoga Massage, Jivaka Kumarbhaccha was a renowned doctor and yogi, he treated the Buddha, among others. After the Buddha’s death, the earliest Buddhist monks travelled to Southeast Asia and were accompanied by Ayurvedic doctors. These doctors practiced a healing art, that would later evolve into traditional Thai Massage.
Thai Yoga Massages are performed on a mat on the floor. The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures and gentle stretching while palming and thumbing along the body’s “sen” (energy lines) and pressure points. This relieves muscular tension, increases circulation and balances the body by unblocking and dispersing energy. This art can be a beautiful relaxed bliss touch that moves in harmony of a meditative practice or can be produced in a way that has your feeling invigorated, but still relaxed. Some of these techniques have a wow type of effect for most.
I currently hold sessions at Yuj Life Community in Glen Osmond or in West Hindmarsh 5 minutes from the city. As you can see below in the photos, the comfort is amazing, with a heated mat during sessions in winter and a vibrancy of energy and cooling during summer. A must try for sure.
